Main Entrance of the Ramen Shop
To satisfy my craving for ramen noodle, I brought my dad to Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King located at Paya Lebar Square.

Interior Design of the Ramen Shop

We visited the place during the lunch crowd period and it was lined with hungry people. Like many other Japanese restaurant, we were greeted with a big warm welcome. The place was clean and well ventilated. The dining area is small and the wall is filled with old japanese stickers and banner. The staff took our order and served us a glass of cold ice water.

Complimentary Side Dishes - Hard Boiled Eggs and Moyashi (Bean Sprout) Salad
As we sat there and waited for our ramen to arrive, we enjoyed the hard boiled egg and cold bean sprout salad that were left on the table. The salad was refreshing and it has a good crunch. It was dressed in sesame oil and the aroma penetrated our noses when we opened the lid . The bean sprout wasn’t overly or under cooked. I just couldn’t stop eating! We finished the whole thing.

Condiments - Sesame Seeds, Fried Onion, Bonito Powder,
Chili Oil, Chili Powder, Vinegar, Soy Sauce, Kewpie Mayonnaise

The condiments enhance the taste of the soup. Adjust it according to your taste. I added vinegar, sesame seeds and chilli powder for the extra kick.

Tonkotsu King Special Toppings (SGD 16.90++)

The broth is rich, concentrated, meaty and jam packed with umami flavour. It is thick and viscous. Every sip makes you want to linger and savor. The noodles was cooked to the right doneness and the thinly sliced pork was tender and succulent. The flavoured egg was salted perfectly and the yolk take on a deep ember color. The stir fried onions with pork belly was sweet and juicy. It balance out the saltiness of the broth and adds another depth of flavour. In addition, the topping such as wood ear fungus and chopped green onions gave extra crunch and freshness. Overall, a nice tasty pork flavoured ramen.

Black Spicy Tonkotsu King Special Toppings (SGD 17.90++)

For those who love black pepper, this is the ramen to go to. It has the signature taste and aroma from the spice. Even though the taste of the black pepper is prominent, it did not overshadow the pork based broth. Instead, it cuts through the richness of the broth, making it easy to drink and swallow.

Expected damage per person - SGD 15 - 21

Overall, a worthy 2 Ninja Star.
